SummaryIndicative course content
Students will have the opportunity to explore a specially selected area of contemporary art practice, choosing either from an area of practice that relates closely to the material covered in the module, or following a more personally determined course of independent and self-directed study on an approved topic, with emphasis on enquiry that complements the student's own studio practice

Aims of course
1 To enable students to analyse and interpret with fluency, confidence and skill
2 To challenge students to engage with a high degree of competence in the interrogation and elucidation of a specially chosen area of contemporary art practice
3 To encourage students to achieve high standards of verbal, written and visual presentation of their ideas, using means appropriate at this level

  2. Show an ability to operate in a self-directed way both to research and to reach conclusions about visual art and design of direct relevance to the student's own studio practice
  3. Demonstrate sophisticated skills in the verbal, written and visual presentation of their ideas, appropriate to this level
