SummaryStudents will develop enhanced skills in working with materials and concepts related to applied design, which may include jewellery, textiles and glass. Using drawing and other appropriate methods of research, students will develop ideas for designing and making a piece or series of pieces.

This course is only available to students on BA Combined Studies (School of Art).
Course description Students will undertake study in one design discipline, utilising specialist workshops where necessary and attending group crits and tutorials in order to develop the research and developmental process.

This Course allows students to build on existing skills to achieve a high level of competence in the creation of designed objects. Underpinning the making skills is research drawing and other means of developing ideas prior to making finished works. This aspect of the course is seen as of equal importance to the demonstration of good making skills.
