  • Notes: Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50% or above at the first attempt in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language.
    (iii) Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits, and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required second-year courses for their registered degrees, are automatically entitled to progress to honours. Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their JYA.

    At least 30 weeks spent in the relevant country and prescribed work in Social Policy and the relevant language in an approved establishment.



  • Year 4, Academic year 2014/15, Starting month: August

  • Notes: Final Assessment: One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. (Papers that for the purposes of degree classification acquire a weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice.). 1. (Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Language Paper 1). 2. (Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Language Paper 1). 3. (Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Language Paper 2). 4. (Scandinavian Studies Oral). 5. (Year abroad marks for Social Policy). 6. (Year abroad marks for Social Policy). 7. (MEL Dissertation Preparation OR Year Abroad Assessment (same mark as 8)). 8. (MEL Dissertation Completion OR MEL Long Essay). 9. (Honours option course in Scandinavian Studies). 10. (Analytical Perspectives in Social Policy). 11. (Social Policy Dissertation). 12. (Social Policy Dissertation).
