Degree Programme Table: Architecture (MA Hons (ARB Pt 1)) (UTARCH)

Year 1, Academic year 2014/15, Starting month: September

  • Notes: All students are enrolled on the MA (Hons) Architecture. Up until the end of year 2 students can opt to transfer to the 3year BA (Ord) Architecture programme or to MA (Hons) Architecture in Creative & Cultural Environments. Please consult your Director of Studies for advice.

    Students must pass all learning outcomes in the Year one core courses (all courses).



  • Year 2, Academic year 2014/15, Starting month: August

  • Notes: All students are enrolled on the MA (Hons) Architecture. Please note that up until the end of year 2 you can opt to transfer to the 3year BA (Ord) Architecture programme or to MA (Hons) Architecture in Creative & Cultural Environments. Please consult your Director of Studies for advice.

    Students must pass all learning outcomes in the Year two core courses (excludes elective/optional course).



  • Year 3, Academic year 2014/15, Starting month: August

  • Notes: In addition to the compulsory courses listed below, Year 3 MA Architecture students will also take an elective course in Semester One [20 credits, SCQF level 9 or 10]. This means 80 credits are taken in Semester One.

    Year Abroad Pathway (MA Hons): Alternatively, with the agreement of the Programme Director, students can opt to take a year abroad (exchange) in year 3, which must include 40 credits of Architectural Design Studio. The required set of courses taken in year 4 are outlined in the degree programme specification.

    Students must note that in honours year (3&4) resits are not permitted. You must pass all learning outcomes in all core courses.



  • Year 4, Academic year 2014/15, Starting month: August

  • Notes: Year Abroad (MA Hons): Please refer to note in Year 3 or to Degree Programme Specification.

    Students must note they must pass all learning outcomes in all core courses. In honours year (3&4) resits are not permitted; the only exception is Academic Portfolio which serves as a summative assessment of the attainment of ARB/RIBA Part One criteria. On approval of the exam board students may be permitted up to 4 attempts to pass Academic Portolio.
