Course description | This course explores how and why states interact at the regional and international level. The course considers theoretical perspectives on both international relations and international political economy, before considering in detail the European Union, the World Trade Organisation and the United Nations. |

This course seeks to:
develop students' conceptual knowledge of key dynamics and concepts in the study of politics, including sovereignty, legitimacy, power and globalisation;
enrich students' ability to evaluate specific European and international institutions.
promote critical understandings of how and why states interact and with what effect. |
