| Course description | This course will introduce students to a range of methodologies used in musical research, particularly those used in archival research. A variety of resources will be used, such as the University Library, the National Library of Scotland and the National Archive of Scotland
Attendance at the series of research seminars organised by Music is a mandatory part of this course. |

| Students will have assimilated various methods and procedures for carrying out research in Humanities subjects. They will have attended a series of seminars, and reflected critically upon both these and upon research undertaken as part of this course. |
