Course description | This course provides an overview of current research on child bilingualism from the perspectives of linguistics and cognitive psychology. It focuses on language separation, bilingual lexical and grammatical development, code-switching, and the effects of early bilingualism on general cognition. It also provides elements of methodology and data analysis that will enable students to carry out research with bilingual children. |
