Course description | Topics include: scientific methodology, experimentation, use of Minitab, data summary and distribution and both parametric and non-parametric statistical methods. At the end of this module, students will be able to apply scientific and statistical methods to actual research projects. Students will also be able to discuss reasonably complex statistical issues with a statistician. Attention will also be given to communication skills (oral and written). |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
¿ Have an understanding of scientific and statistical concepts,
¿ Be able to design simple experiments
¿ Be able to carry out the appropriate standard statistical procedures with confidence, using Minitab,
¿ Be able to discuss statistical issues with a statistician,
¿ Be able to understand and critique experimental design and analysis in the literature.
¿ Be ¿at ease¿ with basic statistics as used in applied to animal behaviour and welfare.
