| Course description | Readings in modern Chinese history and thought, e.g. Mao Zedong etc.; the Chinese cinema and other media as an expression of Chinese thought since the twentieth century. Training in use of original language primary sources.
All students will be given a formative feedback exercise that will be helpful for the assessment for this course and students¿ general ongoing academic development. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Training in reading academic and non-literary modern and classical Chinese. Introduction to and analysis of core texts in Chinese history and thought. Training in critical analytical thinking and written and oral presentation of ideas.
