Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Building on the knowledge of modern East Asian history and/or culture acquired through the first year courses to inform a more detailed study of topics relating to East Asia before 1600, the course aims to enable students to develop further their skills in use of library and other resources, oral presentation and academic writing. |
Assessment Information
1) 2500-word essay on China (25%)
2) 2500-word essay on Japan (25%)
3) Tutorial presentation and accompanying materials (10%)
4) Degree examinations in December and May, each worth 20% and following the format below:
Section A: describing and explaining concepts in short essay form
Section B: discursive essays |
