Course description | This is a key vertical element that deals with many of the central vocational aspects of medical training. It is based principally on the acquisition of skills, competencies, attributes and attitudes, which will equip the graduate to function effectively as a doctor (Pre-Registration House Officer). It is complementary to the process of attaining high levels of knowledge, and is designed to integrate with other types of learning. There is extensive interaction and integration between the eight themes, including a unified assessment framework. Consultation Skills and Communication Skills will form an integral part of every module in Year 4. The aim is to enhance generic skills and develop skills for special circumstances (for example, exploring issues of sexual health in Genitourinary Medicine). |
