Course description | The aim of this course is to understand the relevance of the occlusion in the dentate patient to the outcome of restorative procedures. It will review the techniques and instruments used to analyse the occlusion and the importance and usefulness of a diagnostic wax-up. The use of occlusal splints will be discussed and the skills required to provide and fit an occlusal splint will be reviewed. |

Learning outcomes
¿ To understand the importance and principles of occlusal analysis and to be able to apply them.
¿ To be able to select appropriate occlusal instrumentation to facilitate patient care.
¿ To know the principles and purpose of diagnostic waxing
¿ To be able to construct and fit a well-fitting occlusal splint.
¿ To be able to select appropriate techniques and materials for making inter-occlusal records.
¿ To be able to make appropriate adjustments of restorations to promote occlusal stability.
