Course description | To develop practical knowledge of specialist areas of legal practice. Choices may be made from the following areas:-
Banking Law, Insurance Law, Pensions Law, Tax Planning, Financial Planning, Family Law, Child Law, Employment Law, Construction Law, Human Rights, Licensing Law, Commercial Property, Commercial Leasing, Criminal Advocacy, Civil Advocacy, Mediation, Corporate Finance, Management Buy Outs, Management Buy Ins, Environmental Law, Planning Law, Estate Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Intellectual Property, Charity Law, Restructuring and Insolvency, Medical Negligence and Personal Injury. On a weekly basis there are plenary sessions, workshops and tutorials in each area.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, the students will have a basic knowledge of the chosen specialist areas and be able to conduct legal transactions as befit a day one trainee. The students will be able to conduct interviews, negotiate with other professionals and draft legal documents. They will also have advocacy skills and presentation skills. The students will be equipped for life in Private Practice. |
