Course description | This course offers more advanced students the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge of the morphology and syntax of Classical Latin, to improve their skills in reading original Latin texts, and to develop their understanding of the interpretation of Latin authors to a higher level than in Latin 1C. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should possess and be able to exhibit in coursework, examination, and class and tutorial discussions:-
- a good understanding of Latin grammar and syntax;
- solid skills in translating and understanding Latin literary texts;
- a more developed awareness of critical and interpretative issues raised by those texts. |

Course work (40%);
one (2-hour) degree exam paper - 60%. |
Special Arrangements
This course is divided into two halves of five weeks each, with a guided reading week between them to allow for consolidation and for preparation for the second half of the course. |
