Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course the candidate should
- Understand the social, medical and legal classification of drugs
- Understand models of addiction and the observations on which they are based
- Understand the pharmacological and misuse profiles of the major groups of drugs, including alcohol
- Understand the principles underlying the treatment of drug-dependent patients and alternatives offered within the criminal justice system

Assessment Information
The modules are accompanied by essays and literature review assignments (approx 1000 words) (50% final grade) and online timed multiple choice quizzes (50% final grade %).
