Course description | The course will explore the diverse array of collaborations using creative arts in science engagement; for example, storytelling, drama, dance, music and art. The module will begin by using story-telling as a gateway for an exploration of the role of narrative and metaphor and will explore the social context of creative styles of engagement and their ability to facilitate discussion. Students will develop skills in collaboration in the context of interdisciplinary applications of the creative arts in science communication and they will develop, deliver and evaluate an activity. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, you will be able to demonstrate:
* An appreciation of the creative arts and their role in science communication.
* An ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary project.
* Consolidation of previous learning with regards to diverse audiences, different learning and engagement styles and diverse motivations for engagement. |

* Presentation of a proposal for a science/arts engagement activity. (40%) |
