| Course description | Students will be required to spend a total of 30 weeks attending university in Japan and following a programme of approved study. They will normally participate in an exchange with one of our partner universities in Japan, where Japanese language classes for foreign students will form part of the curriculum. The course aims to enable students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Japanese language (developing their skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening) and culture through living and studying in Japan. |

Students will normally be placed as exchange students at one of the University of Edinburgh's partner universities in Japan, where they will be enrolled for appropriate courses in Japanese language for non-native Japanese. |
