Course description | An introduction to Feminist Theory and Scholarship in the areas of Biblical Interpretation and Systematic Theology. The course will focus on the work done by Feminist theologians from North Atlantic and Third World contexts such as Mujerista, Aboriginal and Womanist theologies, while studying issues such as spirituality, poverty, ecotheology and post-Christianity. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course students should have
? A general understanding of the concept of patriarchy, and how it relates to Christianity
? A particular understanding of differences in perspectives and methodologies amongst feminists theologies
? An understanding of feminist hermeneutics
? A general knowledge of the most advanced forms of feminist theology, including sexual theologies, and how they differ from gender-based theologies
? A general insight of the main criticisms and an evaluation of the present debate on feminist theology
