Course description | The aim of the module is to teach you about the ways that organisms develop from early embryos into mature adults and how this can go wrong, causing developmental disease. The first part of the course will comprise lectures on topics including the formation of the early embryo and its three major germ layers, the development of the neural tube, the pre-and postnatal maturation of the central nervous system and the development of germ cells. In the second part of the course, students will study specific diseases arising from problems during development and present the results of their investigations. |
