| Course description | This course is designed to develop both your study skills and your historical research skills. This course also involves familiarisation with digital resources central to the programme, based on the Edinburgh University Library's collection of e-reference and subscription materials. Intensive use of these resources forms a key feature of the programme; you will be expected to explore maps, plans, data, contemporary accounts, images, and historical documents available in major public digital collections provided by the National Library of Scotland, National Archives, Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments, National Portrait Gallery, other Scottish museums and collections, as well as a number of digital resources nationally and locally available. |
