Course description | The course allows candidates to design, plan and execute high-level research based on
knowledge and skills acquired in taught course-delivered elements of the programme. It
gives candidates a opportunity to undertake novel research under the supervision of at
least one qualified academic member of staff. Additional academic staff and industry
experts may be drawn upon as advisors to support the candidate.

1. Experience in the formulation and testing of hypotheses, data collection and analysis
2. Successful execution of a novel and well-planned independent research project under
expert supervision
3. Ability to write up research findings to a standard publishable in the peer-reviewed
literature
4. Experience in applying theoretical, methodological and technical knowledge acquired in
other parts of the programme to research question and to make a critical analysis of
existing evidence bases in the peer and non-peer reviewed literature |
