Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The project involves both the application of skills learned in the past and the acquisition of new skills. It allows students to demonstrate their ability to organise and carry out a major piece of work according to sound scientific and engineering principals. The types of activity involved in each project will vary but all will typically share many of the following features:
-Research the literature and gather background information.
-Analyse requirements, compare alternatives and specify a solution.
-Novel analysis or extension of relevant theory.
-Design and implement the solution.
-Experiment with and evaluate the solution.
-Discuss existing results and present new research.
-Develop written and oral presentation skills.
