Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will have learned to write idiomatically and imaginatively for full orchestra.
They should have an understanding of the orchestration techniques used in 20th-century music.
They should be able to apply these techniques where appropriate in their own creative compositional work. |
Assessment Information
Assessment is by submission of a portfolio of two contrasting pieces for full orchestra, although one may be for smaller forces. The choice of pieces will aim to reflect the particular compositional interests of each student. |
