Course description | This course aims to develop independence in the skills of project design and management, develop oral and written reporting skills, to encourage high quality technical presentation and non-technical written summaries. Project work is your main chance to work on your own topic of interest and to show your own initiative and programming or experimental skills. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, it is expected that students will:
1)have learnt how to conduct a comprehensive search of the literature relevant to a research topic and to select and summarise the crucial aspects of the relevant literature
2)have gained experience of the organisation and completion of an extended project where the results and outcomes are not fully defined at the beginning
3)have learnt how to write a full report including a concise summary of the relevant literature, the pertinent aspects of the method and a critical discussion of the results and conclusions
4)have gained experience in the preparation of oral reporting of results |
