Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The dissertation aims to develop and demonstrate analytical and organisational skills in a particular area, thus giving students an insight to the world of research and scholarship. A dissertation does not necessarily aim at exhaustiveness within its field or topic, nor does it need to incorporate original research, although both elements may be apparant in the completed dissertation. |
Assessment Information
A preliminary report, containing a clear proposal and a statement of progress made, is required at the end of the third year. The final assessment takes place at the end of the fourth year with the submission of a 10,000 word dissertation (see IMES Dissertation (part 2)). |
