Course description | Human Genetics:
The aim - to explore how the impetus to understand human genetic disorders has prompted new technological advances and revealed novel biological mechanisms. Speakers in this course will give lectures showing how general principles of human genetics have applied to specific examples of human genetic syndromes.
Sex Determination:
Learning outcomes
- Understand genetic strategies for sex determination and sex chromosome dosage compensation in a variety of vertebrate and non-vertebrate species
- Criticise current experimental data relevant to the topic and evaluate apparently conflicting theories
- Prepare and execute presentations and participate with peers in seminars conveying details of recent advances in the field. |
