Foundation English for Academic Purposes 2 is designed to improve the students&© English knowledge and skills to the point where they can participate effectively in undergraduate courses in Humanities or Social Science. With that aim in mind, FEAP 2 will focus on the development of students&© critical thinking and presentation skills. Critical Thinking sessions cover issues such as the identifying sound or poor argumentation in academic texts and recognising suasion and bias, and culminate in participation in $ú and analysis of $ú a group seminar. Presentation Skills sessions address such aspects of effective presentation as the use of visuals, phrasing and emphasis in vocal delivery, and making a strong conclusion. Together, these two strands complement the work done in Foundation English for Academic Purposes 1 on academic reading, writing and vocabulary, to provide the students with the tools required for effective undergraduate study.
