| Course description | Sexually transmitted infections is one of the top three reasons of healthy life years lost in women in developing countries, this course aims to introduce students to the concepts of STI diagnosis, management and control.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course the candidate should understand:
* Diagnosis, treatment and monitoring for STIs (including HIV)
* The various approaches to prevention and control
* Issues of confidentiality and partner notification
* The provision of STI health care and management |
Assessment Information
| Formal summative written assessment will constitute 60% of the student's grade. Online assessment will incorporate a variety of activities will constitute 40% of their overall course grade and is taken to represent a formative assessment of learning throughout the programme. |
