Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the candidate should be familiar with basic concepts of geographic data collection, mapping and spatial analysis including
* History of spatial analysis in control of infectious diseases
* Underlying concepts and metadata requirements for geospatial data (datum, projection)
* Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data manipulation, display and analysis
* Cluster analysis
* Landscape epidemiology, remote sensing and applications for risk mapping

Assessment Information
Formal summative written assessment will constitute 60% of the student's grade. Online assessment will incorporate a variety of activities will constitute 40% of their overall course grade and is taken to represent a formative assessment of learning throughout the programme. |
