Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Successful completion of the course will allow participants to:
? gain a clear overview of their current conceptions of language learning, teaching and assessment
? develop skills in reporting on learning/teaching activities and progress in pupils? learning and development
? analyse the strengths and limitations of differing representations of learning, teaching and assessment
? consider the challenges inherent in embedding research perspectives on learning and teaching in practice
? be critically aware of strategies which enhance learning and of the pupil/student?s perspective on learning, teaching and assessment
? consider how goals, subject content, teaching, learning and assessment activities can be appropriately aligned and pupil learning be advanced

Assessment Information
Participants will be required to produce an assignment of approximately 4000 words in which they either critically analyse current research perspectives on learning and teaching or they connect current research perspectives on learning and teaching to their own practice. Participants will be offered suggested topics / questions for the assignment but will also be able to negotiate with course tutors and identify specific topics or areas of investigation which interest them. |
