Course description | This module focuses on the behaviours and cognitive processes required to achieve peak performance. The module commences by examining theories of expertise and analysing the psychological characteristics that have been associated with elite performers. In keeping with the title the module then considers the phenomena described as peak performance and the psychological states that are linked to optimal performance. The module also examines theories of attention and imagery both of which have been strongly identified as components of elite performance. To provide an applied emphasis within the module the techniques and approaches to develop attention, imagery and other relevant skills are reviewed and evaluated. |
