Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To analyse and compare the education and training systems of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland in order to :
1. help students (whether from the UK or overseas) to understand their own system better through a comparison with the (other) systems of the UK.
2. introduce students from overseas to the main features of education and training in the UK and to the main differences between the systems in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland;
3. explore and illustrate the purposes of comparing education and training systems, the possible approaches to comparative analysis and the concepts used to analyse education systems;
4. examine selected issues in educational policy. |
