Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The following details are designed to outline the demands of BEd 4 placement. Specifically these include teaching PE to S1-S6, including a gradual introduction of Higher Still Physical Education with the aim of students having responsibility for teaching Higher Still classes as the placement progresses through the 8* week period. Also, opportunity should be given to become familiar with current initiatives, which involve the PE dept.
Accordingly, the major themes of the placement will be as follows:
i a gradual introduction to teaching of Higher Still Physical Education
ii continued development of the planning, implementation and evaluation of lessons in Physical Education in core PE in S1 & S6 and specific certificated programmes.
iii consideration of current curricular development in core, Standard Grade and Higher Still Physical Education
iv consideration of whole school policies
vi describing and analysing the organisation and functioning of the school as part of the learning community
*Possibility that some students may be required or may elect to remain in the Secondary School for extended period (4 weeks).
