Course description | This course provides the opportunity for experienced practitioners to undertake an advanced exploration and analysis of a key practice theme with reference to their own clinical practice. In relation to their chosen focus, they will be required to examine current debates, key contemporary concepts and research themes and issues. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should have:-
- an in-depth theoretical and practice-based understanding of one key theme arising in their counselling practice
- the capacity to identify, conceptualise and analyse a thematic case study drawing on the student's own clinical work
- the capacity to plan and independently implement an individualised study programme in relation to a key practice them of their choice. |
Assessment Information
One 4,000 to 5,000 word essay on a topic of the student's choice, guided through regular supervision. Students will critically reflect on a practice theme, drawing on their own practice development and integrating relevant research and literature |
