Course description | This course represents a new core addition to the undergraduate programmes in Business Studies single honours and combined degrtees. The course is designed to fill a gap in the application and analysis of core research skills, building on key skills acquired in year 2 in Business Research Methods I: Quantitative Techniques (prior to 2009/10 this course was entitled Quantitative Research Methods in Business BS0208). The course aims to provide students with the skills and capabilities to undertake research, including designing appropriate research strategies, selecting appropriate research methods (qualitative and quantitative methods), analysing and interpreting data and presenting research results. The course is designed to be $ùhands-on&© providing students with the opportunity to learn by conducting research and analysing data, in addition to understanding the theoretical underpinnings of business research decisions. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students should be able to:
- Understand and apply theory and practice of business research, building on their knowledge of quantitative tools and techniques gained in QRMB.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant literature on business research
- Show an appreciation of the different methods of research available and the range of choices available to students.
- Understand how to conduct a literature review, identify research questions and design a research project.
- Develop "hands-on" experience of gathering and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Demonstrate skills in reporting research results and drawing implications and conclusions from the findings.
