| Course description | For this course one (or more) group(s) of students work together to create a presentation on a theme relevant to the classical world. The group determines the subject of the display and the means to present it to the general public and fellow students: this may be in the form of an exhibition, website or performance (or any other relevant medium), but the results have to be available to the designated audience (and the examiners) by the end of the Semester. |

| Pre-requisites | Visiting students should usually have at least 3 courses in Classics related subject matter (at least 2 of which should be in Ancient History or Classical Art/Archaeology) at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this) for entry to this course. We will only consider University/College level courses. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course students should:
- demonstrate through their logbooks that they have contributed to the group effort and can work as part of a team;
- demonstrate through the display created by their group (whatever form it takes) that they can communicate information on a specific Classical topic to their target audience in a form that is appropriate to the audience;
- demonstrate through the logbooks and the display itself that they can research and collect information on a specific Classical topic;
- be able to draw up a simple agenda, write minutes and chair meetings.
Participation in this course should provide:
- experience in working as part of a team, to a deadline and within a budget;
- the opportunity to learn and develop new technical and practical skills;
- the opportunity to engage with an audience outside the University and to exercise ingenuity and creativity within an academic discipline. |
Assessment Information
Each group's exhibition is awarded a mark (50%);
each student's individual participation is also awarded a mark (50%). |

| In order for a student from outwith Classics to be enrolled on this course, contact must be made with a Course Secretary on 50 3580 in order for approval to be obtained. |
