Course description | The aim of this core module is to give programme participants an understanding of how international businesses are contributing to addressing some of the global challenges of our time. It aims to provide programme participants with a thorough understanding of the subject area of corporate sustainability and responsibility from the perspective of the international firm, and from the perspective of the international manager and business leader having to make decisions concerning international businesses. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completing the course students will be able to address, for actual companies operating in international contexts, questions such as:
- What is corporate sustainability and responsibility?
- What is the purpose of business in the global world order?
- What are the possible roles of businesses in different cultures and societies?
- How are businesses responding to some of the world¿s challenges?
- What internal and external environments are required to enable businesses tackle some of the contemporary global challenges?

Assessment Information
Assessment is linked directly to the aims and objectives of the module, and is based on the application of the concepts and frameworks to real cases. It is based on three components:
(1) two group case study presentations that will jointly account for 40% of the final mark (i.e. 20% respectively)
(2) a group paper (3000 words) that will constitute 40% of the final mark, and
(3) an individual personal reflection (1,500 words) that will constitute 20% of the final mark. These personal reflections will be submitted with the group essays
