Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
After sucessful completion of this course, a student will have: a detailed knowledge of seminal contributions to the theological study of the HB/OT, from both Christian and Jewish perspectives; a critical understanding of how key HB/OT texts inform theological debate; a comprehension of recent developments in the theological study of the HB/OT. The student will also be able to: integrate the study of the HB/OT with other theological disciplines; identify commonalities and contrasts in Jewish and Christian understandings of the theology of the HB/OT; offer independent, critical analysis of the HB/OT texts in relation to theological issues. |
Assessment Information
Summative: 50% critical assessment portfolio (weekly essays); 50% 3000-word research essay; formative: seminar leadership and participation. |
