Course description | Through selected institutions and issues, this course investigates both the nature of political life in the Old Testament, and political aspects and gender politics in the Old Testament and the modern world. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will have:
- identified and critically examined some of the gender issues raised within the Old Testament and Apocryphal literature;
- developed an understanding of the varying forms of feminist biblical interpretation and be adept at utilising these methodologies in their interpretation of a wide range of Old Testament texts;
- developed an ability to engage in a comparative analysis of issues in gender politics in both the biblical traditions and contemporary culture. |
