Course description | This is an advanced language course consisting of four components:
&· intensive reading with an emphasis on Chinese commerce and current affairs
&· newspaper reading with a focus on current affairs
&· composition with the aim of improving students&© writing skills in general
&· oral class where vocabulary and expressions that have been learned in the intensive reading class are practised and consolidated. This class also aims to improve students&© speaking skills through debating, discussing and making presentations in Chinese.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students are expected to reach the advanced level at the end of the course. They will be in command of a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures encompassing most general situations and a range of discipline-specific topics. Students should be equipped with a sufficient level of written and spoken Chinese to express viewpoints and carry out research using some original Chinese documents. |
