Course description | The aim of the course is to develop advanced academic writing skills necessary for writing in fluent, idiomatic Japanese such as summarization techniques and writing techniques for arguing the pros and cons of a given text. A good deal of preparation is necessary to meet the requirements of this course. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The course aims to develop the student's skills in written Japanese to an advanced level in the following areas:
Academic essay writing
Business Japanese including CV writing
Summarizing
presenting a cogent argument |
Assessment Information
Word-processed essay in Japanese 25%
3-hour degree examination 75%
Please note that through this assessment in year 4, students are being examined for 10 of the credits gained for Japanese Language Programme and Study Abroad 3. |
