Course description | This course engages with the re-evaluation of popular culture, a reconsideration of the meaning and scope of the $łaesthetic,&© and an engagement with numerous other concerns outside the traditional
domain of Critical Theory, such as geography, museology, cultural studies, design and visual culture, and gender studies. Central to the course is thus a tracking of the rise of discourses in response to
the perceived inadequacy of Critical Theory in the face of contemporary society and culture. |

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Generate a focus for and make a constructive contribution to group crits.
2. Demonstrate an ability to research and articulate a critical knowledge of one or more principle methods in the analysis of culture and subject one or more of those methods to critical scrutiny
3. Use your publishing media to conceptualise, promote, and generate a critical dialogue around your group curatorial project. |
