Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students should:
1. Understand why building services are required and recognise the context of operation 2. Understand the performance of the building envelope as a climate modifier
3. Recognise the requirements of a comfortable internal environment 4. Understand the role of the various components of building services systems
5. Be aware of the standards and levels of performance that can be expected from systems 6. Recognise the issues that can arise as a result of installing services systems into historic buildings.
? Students should be able to observe, draw logical deductions, and make recommendations on the information available.
? They should be able to discuss, as informed colleagues, the work of specialist building services engineers. ? They should be able to make informed judgments on the likely success of alternative courses of action.
