Course description | This course gives PGT students the opportunity to take advantage of specialist courses in architectural history, which, with the agreement of their programme director, is seen to complement their main, postgraduate studies. It allows them to deepen their knowledge in an existing area or to broaden their learning into an area not covered in their undergraduate study. The student will choose a 20-credit honours undergraduate course in architectural history and attend the normal classes for that course. However, the output will differ from that of the undergraduate students and will be the equivalent of a 6,000 word research paper. The exact nature of this will be negotiated by the student and the relevant course organiser and will be recorded in an Individual Learning Contract. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completing this course the students will have participated in a series of lectures, seminars and other learning activities associated with a specialist course in Architectural History. They will have presented their findings to the group, interacted with other students and learned to use methodologies appropriate to the subject. They will have reflected on their learning and negotiated their own learning contract which will allow them to produce work at the appropriate Masters level. They will have prepared a research paper or equivalent on a topic of their choice related to their chosen subject. |
