Course description | Indicative course content
The module provides improved awareness increased knowledge and better critical understanding through a final design proposal. Students must present a portfolio of work demonstrating that the ARB Part 2criteria have been satisfied. Although projects vary the overall framework is similar. The intellectual content of all units should be roughly equivalent and is intended to be both stimulating and exploratory.
Aims of course
1 Enable students to experiment with new concepts, ideas, processes, and materials to which they have been introduced
2 Test the learning within a prescribed context or set problem
3 Explore both the artistic and intellectual implications inherent in the programme; demonstrate that they can apply themselves to a programme which is largely self-generated and display personal management skills appropriate to someone about to enter the profession.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. ability to prepare strategies and frameworks for design proposals/creative propositions appropriate to architecture and the Unit&©s related specialised subject area
2. knowledge of cultural, environmental, and technical issues incorporated into a final design proposal
3. skills in communicating design proposals/creative propositions in a verbal, written and graphic form using appropriate media (including drawing, modelling, digital and electronic techniques). |
