Course description | This module introduces the technological and environmental aspects of architectural design. It focuses on the key concepts which underpin the design of structural and environmental systems. It is also concerned with the use of materials in architecture. The module emphasizes the links between architectural design, architectural technology and sustainability and a wider concern for the global environment. |

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to demonstrate:
1. Understanding of the key concepts in the physical behaviour of structural systems and their application in architecture;
2. 2. Appreciation of the integral nature of material assembly and environmental systems to the development of architectural designs;
3. 3. A breadth of knowledge and understanding of the principles of architectural structures, material assembly, environmental systems and sustainability in the built environment. |
