* No previous knowledge of Portuguese is necessary: a pass
in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade
or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency is normally required. |
** Must be the second level of one of the courses taken in
first year. |
Students who spend 30 weeks of residence in one country
as an assistant or at an approved institution will also need to fulfil the
eight weeks minimum residence required for the other language: this will
normally be done in the summer vacation preceding the fourth year, in a
manner approved by the Head of School. |
Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in
all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50%
or above in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language. |

on options) |
