Acronym : LAW-3-PU0005 An introduction to the law (international, European Community and national) related to the protection of the environment. Emphasis is placed not only on selected subject areas (e.g. nature conservation, integrated pollution control) but also on the study of different strategies of environmental protection and their enforcement. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should have an understanding of environmental problems themselves, and be able to describe the policy response to them, and be able to summarise and assess the role of the institutions and procedures of legal regulation.

Assessed essay (100%) of up to 20 pages.
