Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

* Understand the basics of how the groundwater flow equation is put together
* Understand the difference between transmissivity, hydraulic conductivity, specific storage, storativity.
* Understand how 2D or 3D // Isotropic or anisotropic // Steady state or transient // With source term // without source term flow is represented.
* Be able to define the difference between confined and unconfined flow
* Given the analytical solution for unconfined flow be able to predict the groundwater table according to the geometry and the amount of precipitation expected.
* Understand the concept of contaminant transport
* Be able to define advective transport and diffusive transport.
* Using analytical solutions be able to predict the movement of contaminant in the underground.
* Understand the processes of diffusion and dispersion.
* Predict the effects of retardation, sorption and decay.
