MPhys Project Preparation (U04272)

To provide training in the searching, reading and critical assessment of the primary scientific literature. Students are required to produce a review article on the subject of their Research Project to be carried out in the remainder of the MPhys year.

Entry Requirements

? This course is not available to visting students.

? Pre-requisites : At least 80 credit points accrued in courses of SCQF Level 9 or 10 drawn from Schedule Q.

? Co-requisites : MPhys Project (PHY-5-MPhysProj)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course students will be able to conduct a comprehensive search of the scientific literature relevant to a research topic and summarise the crucial aspects of the search in written and oral form to a professional standard.
